American Buttercream


American Buttercream has the prefect consistency to ice any cake! Use this recipe and your favorite cake colors to decorate your buttercream cake.


  • 25 oz       Hi-ratio shortening at room temputure (sub with crisco as well)
  •   1lb        Unsalted butter at room temputure
  • 1/2 tsp     Almond Emulsion
  •   1 tbsp    Vanilla
  •   9 tbs      Water  (1/2 cup + 1 tbs)
  •   5 lbs      Stifted Powder Sugar
  •   1 tsp      Salt


  1. Mix shortening, butter, almond and vanilla until smooth
  2. In a cup dissolve salt with water
  3. Add sugar slowly alternated with the water to help with mixing
  4. Mix until well combined
